Turkish Company’s Bid for Islamabad Airport Outsourcing ‘Approved’

In a significant development, a Turkish company’s bid for the outsourcing of Islamabad International Airport has been technically approved, according to well-placed sources reported by ARY News on Tuesday.

Disqualification of Two Companies

As per the details, bids for the airport’s outsourcing were submitted; however, representatives from two companies were disqualified from the process due to the late submission of their bids.

The Turkish company, which submitted the highest bid for the project, is currently under thorough evaluation. The tender process was overseen by a committee chaired by the Secretary of Aviation, Ahsan Mangi.

Evaluation and Approval Process

A thorough evaluation of the Turkish company’s documents is currently underway, sources confirmed. Once completed, the proposal will be presented to the Pakistan Airports Authority’s Board of Directors. If approved, the outsourcing contract will be awarded to the Turkish company. However, the final decision will also require approval from the federal cabinet.

The Secretary of Aviation, Ahsan Mangi, is set to brief the Prime Minister on the progress of the airport’s outsourcing process today.

Outsourcing of Pakistan’s Major Airports

In September, the Ministry of Aviation initiated steps toward outsourcing three of Pakistan’s major airports: Karachi airport, Lahore, and Islamabad. As part of this process, the ministry requested updated data regarding passenger traffic, flight operations, revenue, and contracts related to these airports over the past two years.
