Dr. Sarosh Lodhi, the Vice-Chancellor of NED University, has clarified that the institution is not accountable for the maladministration during the recent Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) held at NED and Dow Ojha Campus.

He explained that while NED facilitates the venue for the test, the administration, security, and overall management of the exam fall under the jurisdiction of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC). Dr. Lodhi emphasized that “NED’s reputation should not be tarnished due to issues arising from the test,” reiterating that the university’s role is strictly limited to providing the location.

NED’s Strong Reputation in Conducting Its Own Tests

Dr. Lodhi also highlighted that NED University has an excellent track record when it comes to conducting its own entrance tests, which take place twice a year. These exams are widely recognized for their discipline and smooth execution, with extensive media coverage serving as proof.

“NED conducts its entrance tests with impeccable discipline,” he said, urging journalists to verify any facts directly with the university before publishing reports that may affect the institution’s standing.

UHS Receives Complaints Over MDCAT Test in Punjab

The University of Health Sciences (UHS) faced nearly 100 complaints from students regarding the MDCAT conducted across Punjab on Sunday. According to an official source, most of the complaints were related to “wrong and confusing questions and answers,” while others were miscellaneous.

UHS Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ahsan Waheed Rathore addressed the situation, stating that such complaints are a routine practice during the MDCAT. “Candidates were allowed to submit complaints regarding any question’s stem or options between 2 pm and 6 pm on the test day,” he shared. Additionally, those wishing to challenge the answer key were advised to submit complaints online between 10 am and 6 pm the following day.

The UHS took prompt action by forwarding complaints to a panel of subject specialists for resolution. Over 58,000 candidates appeared for the exam across 26 centers in Punjab, and the final results are expected within a week, following which the admission process will begin.
