The Go Green Revolution | Solar Power Empowers Islamabad’s 100 Primary Schools

The considerable move of Federal Education and Professional Training, Islamabad to reduce the cost of electricity and promote sustainability has come up with the a plan to convert 100 primary schools to solar energy within the upcoming two months. 

This initiative is part of a broader strategy to utilize renewable energy sources and reduce the city’s carbon footprint. Insha Allah, this project will not only reduce electricity costs but also provide a clean and sustainable source of energy for our schools, a ministry spokesperson announced on Saturday.

The project, slated for completion by the end of the year, will see solar panels installed on the rooftops of the selected schools. The solar energy systems will be tailored to meet each school’s specific energy requirements.

“Good for students, now they just need to have all their fans and lights too in working condition” – says Matiullah Jan, Senior Pakistani Journalist in his latest post on Twitter X.

Strategy to Save Millions and Enhance Educational Resources!

The initiative is expected to save the ministry millions of rupees in electricity costs annually, which will be used to further improve educational facilities.

This move represents a significant step towards sustainable development and reflects the government’s commitment to promoting renewable energy solutions. By powering schools with solar energy, Islamabad is setting a precedent for other cities to follow, ensuring a cleaner and greener future for the next generation.
